MY MANIFESTO
Technique, Talent, Education
First, it was my love of words, then my love of the words a story can make, and then how words can complement and give context to a visual. I practiced these ideas wherever I could, from my journalism classes at Penn State to updating my friends back home via social media. My love continue to grow - next, I fell in love with the visuals. With how a story can be told without words, but with emotion, through smiles, eyes, and other physical cues. And now I’m infatuated with how to use both images and words to amplify one another. Like how an image can spark an unsaid memory or how words can illustrate an idea that can live beyond a page, beyond a post.
Whenever I'm passionate about learning something new, I delve into the science behind the technique. Understanding why specific choices are made in the industry where the technique is applied, and how those choices impact the final result, is crucial. I practice applying this knowledge until I develop the skill. I see every opportunity as an opportunity to practice – whether I’m alone, with my peers, on social media, or even with strangers. When I share my experiences and creations, I share to inspire community, hope, ingenuity, and creativity.
